Jeepers Creepers is a 2001 film written and directed by Victor Salva (Powder, Rites of Passage).  Certainly not a "new" story line, but some great twists and imagery really make this a strong film.
The acting in the film was strong.  Gina Phillips (Dead and Breakfast, The Sick House) was great in this one and despite the fact that she has appeared in many, many tv shows and films, I am shocked that she has never had a huge Hollywood breakthrough.   Justin Long, who has basically had a part in almost every movie made in the last five years, plays her brother.  The two have been chased by a monster after Long fell down in a well, discovering "victims".
The discovery of the victims down in the pipe (well?) is a really cool and well done scene.  The lair that is discovered is so intricate, you almost have to see it to believe it.  From the formations of the bodies, to the ceiling of the "cave", everything looks awesome.
Long does manage to find a living, albeit banged up, victim when he enters the pipe.  After he escapes, he and his sister are chased by the monster.
There are a number of really creative kill scenes in this one.  The gore is well done.  My personal favorite is the head being thrown through a billboard.  Nice work.
Overall this is a very strong movie.  The only thing that I found to be irritating is the monster's link to that stupid song.  The idea that the song plays when the proverbial crap is going to hit the fan is silly.  Not only that, the song is irritating on its' own anyway.
I give this one an eight.  The only downside being the above and that does not take much away from a really fun film.
